A top call of 1200gns was the highlight of the dispersal of the Manorhouse and Craven flocks of Suffolks for father and son team David and John Calvert, West Marton, Skipton.
This top call was made by H Annett and Sons, Morpeth, Northumberland, when buying a one lamb ewe by Saffadan Smartie carrying a set of twins by Kings Talent.
Another of the same age and by the same sire, but this time carrying a single to Westcarse Wallace then sold at 950gns to C Lowry, Rockfield, Monmouthshire, while another one lamb ewe again by Smartie sold to Messrs Annett for 900gns.

In the three lamb ewes a 720gns sale saw a Birness Goldstorm daughter sell to Mr Lowry, with a four crop ewe by 30,000gns sire Cairness Golden Star sold to C R Emmett, Truro, for 750gns.
Leading the shearling ewes was a 720gns bid for another daughter of Safaddan Smartie, carrying a pair by Rhaedr Rocket Star. She also headed to Cornwall, being bought by N Dalgarmo.
But the trade of the day was reserved for the ewe lambs which peaked at 920gns for a daughter of Craven Cracker which sold to Mr McFadzean. Then a Kings Talent daughter made 800gns when selling to J A and M Gornall, Clitheroe, and another by Cracker sold at 750gns to Robert Percival, Carlisle.
