Bekende Ierse Suffolk kudde houdt op te bestaan

De bekende Ierse Laurelbank kudde zal ophouden te bestaan. Op 27 oktober worden meer dan 100 dieren geveild.

Ballymena Livestock Mart will be the venue for the dispersal of the noted Laurelbank pedigree Suffolk flock, property of David Duncan, Crumlin, on Tuesday October 27th.

David Duncan Dispersal 1.jpg The catalogued entry includes 33 ewes, 25 gimmers, 30 ewe lambs and 14 embryos all of which will be eligible for immediate export.

Of the entries on offer, 33 are by leading sires such as the 8000gns Cairness Kickback, several times sire of the year Champion, Fordafourie Flashdance, the €32,000 Mullanboy Mohammed, the 11,000gns Birness the Body and the 70,00gns Raeadr Rossi.

Predicted to be one of the highlights of the sale will be HJW H92 (lot21), a daughter of the 45,00gns Boreland Buddah urcahsed from the noted Bailey’s flock for €20,000. She is bred from a dam by Bailets Barrichello and traces back to Cairness Carlsberg.

Of the 25 gimmers featured in the catalogue, most are by the 75,000gns Rhaeadr Rossi. The 30 ewe lambs are mainly daughters of Beaufort Bullion with several by Whitestone Warrier son, Cairness New Approach.

The Laurelbank Suffock flock was founded by David Duncan in 1968 and has proved successful both in the show and sale rings.
